The Islip Town Democratic Executive Committee follows Chairman’s Lead and Endorses Monica Martinez in the Suffolk County Ninth Legislative District Race
Islip, NY - Islip Democratic Leader, Gerry Pallotta, is pleased to announce that the Town of Islip Democratic Executive Committee has overwhelmingly endorsed Monica Martinez in the race for the Ninth Legislative District of the Suffolk County Legislature. “Monica understands and appreciates the role and importance of the Islip Democratic Committee and has earned the respect and praise of our Committee members” said Mr Pallotta. “Ms Martinez is a positive and effective force in the community, has embraced our Town Council candidates, Astrid Fidelia and George Hafele, and has collected over 2,500 signatures for our team.”
This is in stark contrast to Rick Montano, who has worked against the Islip Democratic Committee’s Town Council candidates by putting forward a failed primary attempt which fizzled when the candidates he backed were forced to withdraw from the race due to improper signatures on their ballot petitions. “I believe our Executive Committee grew tired of Mr Montano’s divisive tactics and inaccurate statements in the press, and wishes to set the record straight and get on with the business of getting our candidates elected this November” said Mr Pallotta.
"I am honored to have the endorsement of the Islip Town Democratic Executive Committee and its Chairman, Gerry Pallotta” said Ms Martinez. I’m excited to work together to make sure that our community has true Democratic representatives fighting for their interests.
Both Democratic Town Council candidates are ecstatic by the Executive Committee’s endorsement of Ms Martinez, and look forward to continue working with her serving the residents of Islip. “Monica is connected to her community 365 days a year, and doesn’t need to be told what the issues are – she lives those issues everyday” said Mr Hafele. “I couldn’t agree more” added Ms Fidelia. “Monica Martinez is a passionate woman who is driven to represent her community. I believe in her and I know that she will represent Brentwood and Central Islip wholeheartedly.”
